Mass-Participation Events

These are the events that attract the biggest number of participants and for which road closures and various other stops are pulled out!

There is something for everyone, and the idea is to give folk the opportunity to try different types of event and to progress both throughout the year and year after year, increasing distances, improving times, meeting new challenges and enjoying new achievements.

Epilepsy Action Bradford 10K (Spring)

Fast, flat, ideal for elite times, personal bests and also for beginners who want a flat course!

Epilepsy Action’s very own City Centre 10k road race. Starting and finishing in Bradford’s City Park and Centenary Square, the course is closed to traffic and is faster and flatter than ever before! It is a fantastic race for beginners and those in search of their personal bests. Over £250,000 has been raised in its seven years, with 1720 registered for the 2014 race.

Keighley BIGK 10K (Mother’s Day, March/April)

Linking all four parks in Keighley, in the heart of Bronte Country, this unique event uses roads, trails, ginnels and tracks to complete a challenging 10K loop around the town.

In the last four years over 3,300 runners and walkers have enjoyed this event, helping to raise over £120,000 for Sue Ryder – Manorlands Hospice at nearby Oxenhope.

3-in-1 Bradford CityRuns (October)

A unique “3-in-1” event that enables participants to complete 5K, 10K or half marathon around a challenging but interesting city centre lapped course.

A unique Bradfordian event on the weekend that the clocks go back!  An extra hours sleep before you run, followed by a choice of 5K, 10K or half marathon: a three-in-one event that allows participants of all backgrounds and abilities to enjoy the unique atmosphere! The city centre roads are shut for the entire Sunday morning just for people to run and local clubs and sports organisations offer generous support to participants.
