Hello again everybody!
I hope you’ve all had a great summer of running and doing whatever else you enjoy! If you’ve been competing then I hope you had some successful races and good results. And that you’re looking forward to the next season with some new goals and enthusiasm. To help you on your way, the new Enhanced Training program starts tomorrow, and the track sessions are back on Wednesdays as well.
So, the first session of the autumn block is on Monday 8 September at Bradford Grammar School, Keighley Rd, Bradford, BD9 4JP. This is a gym based drills, circuits and plyometrics session with Ilona. The session will start at 7 pm and finish at 9 pm. It will be held in the ‘Senior gym’ – full details of how to find it are on the website here: http://bradfordathleticsnetwork.org/training-coaching/et/strength-conditioning/. The session will be mostly indoors, so light exercise clothing and a clean pair of trainers is recommended. There are changing facilities available inside the school.
On Wednesday 10 September the track session will take place at 7 pm at University Academy, Green Head Rd, Keighley, BD20 6EB. The coach will be Brian Scobie. It is an outdoor track, so take appropriate clothing for the weather! The session will start with a warm-up and drills – as it gets colder then an extra layer or two to wear for this is recommended. Full changing facilities are available. More details of the session and location are on the website here: http://bradfordathleticsnetwork.org/training-coaching/et/track/.
It looks like we should have a number of newcomers at both of these sessions, as well as some returning faces! Welcome to anybody getting this email update for the first time. I know that all the regulars will be welcoming and helpful at the sessions, if it feels a bit strange at first don’t worry – you should improve quickly and become more comfortable and proficient. Don’t hesitate to ask questions – the coaches are there to provide advice, and there is a wealth of experience spread around the members of the group.
I’ll be sending out an email similar to this one every week with notices about the training – this may become particularly relevant in the winter (I know it seems a long way off…) if the weather turns icy or snowy as we may need to make last minute changes to the sessions. If you don’t want to be included in the mailings, please let me know and I’ll take you off the circulation list. Notices will also be posted on the website here: http://bradfordathleticsnetwork.org/notices/et/, and we have a Facebook group which is useful for last minute plans: https://www.facebook.com/groups/254424411347273
That’s all for now, unfortunately I’m unable to be at the sessions this week but I hope to see you on a Monday and/or Wednesday soon!
Steve
